Abuse can take many
forms —
it can be physical, sexual, emotional, verbal, or combination of any or all of those.
Neglect — when parents or guardians do not take care of the basic needs of the children in their care —
can also be a type of abuse.
It may be difficult to recognize abuse
if it has been a way of life for many years —
a person may think
it's just the way things are
and there's nothing that can be done.
